ProfN
How does Retrospect 8.x's Duplicate function differ from that of Retrospect 6.1.230 when used for cloning between one's internal and external hard drives? Is Duplicate in 8 faster or more reliable than in 6? Can Retrospect 8 import the duplication scripts created with 6.1.230? Thanks. Mayoff
Duplicating is basically the same. Not sure if it is faster or not. You will need to download a trial to find out with your setup. You can not import old settings.
ProfN
Thanks for your thoughtfulness, Robin. 1. Can 6.1.230 and 8.x-trial co-exist (with both still operable) on a PPC Mac with OS 10.5.x or would installing the trial version interfere with launching 6 and running its duplication scripts? 2. And, if one decides to do the full upgrade to 8.1.148, would that prevent one from retreating to 6 without re-installing the 6.1.230 and re-writing scripts? Mayoff
Yes they can both be on the same computer. You will always have access to version 6 and its data.
