blottodesign Posted June 29, 2009 Report Share Posted June 29, 2009 Am still having problems adding clients, after installing 8.1.184: "Add client" > Use "subnet broadcast" > two clients appear in list (an improvement) > I select one > "add" > password prompt > I enter client password > error message: "[color:red]An error occured (-501)[/color]" No firewalls are active on either machine. Retrospect Engine running on an Intel Mac Mini (OS X 10.5.7) Console (8.1.184) running on the same machine. Have also upadted client software. blottodesign Posted July 1, 2009 Author Report Share Posted July 1, 2009 To conclude this thread (hopefully): Further tests seem to point to Retrospect Console having problems adding clients which were set up with single-character passwords.
