filmul
I got a message from activities "media needed" although the free space on the current member (hardware compressed LTO-4) is 730 GB. So I must change the tape to finish the backup. What could be the reason ? (the drive and the tapes are new). Thanks for your suggestions. Mayoff
The hardware NEVER reports free space on a tape. Retrospect displays an estimated capacity that is an FYI only. Retrospect will write data until the hardware requests a new tape. If the estimate is wrong, change it to match your actual media capacity. hford
I haven't found where to change the estimated tape capacity in v.8 yet. Would you explain how this is done?
Mayoff
Sorry about this. It is a bug in Retrospect. Set Capacity options don't exist in the UI like other versions of Retrospect. This is logged as bug 22087 Treat the number in Retrospect as a cosmetic estimate that does not impact actual tape space.
