Check rules...

Is there a way (like in previous Retrospect versions) to test and check rules ?

I didn't see a way to do this. And when we try to do a complicated rule, it will be fine to test it.

In the 6.1 version, we could test the result of the rule on a "pseudo-volume" and it was really useful.

Unfortunately, we do not have that feature yet.

You can try using the Backup Assistant, select your rule, select a source, select a destination and then click Preview. This should select the items that match your rule. It isn't as easy as a check but it should give you a better idea for how things are going.

We hope to add the check option in a future update.

you only get the preview option if you use the wizard backup assistant. Not if you use a saved script. This isn't a good way to do it anyway because it doesn't filter anything until you expand the containing folder. I've found a better way seems to be to restore an actual backup to a disk image using the filter.
