Maser
From observation... It appears to me that if a client backup crashes, the next time around the catalog is automatically rebuilt before any client is backed up. (Basically, my question boils down to wondering if files that were already "completed" before the crash will get backed up a second time or not) Is the above observation correct? A crash will not have files backed up a second time? What if -- during the crash -- the backup was in the middle of backing up a 2G database file -- so the file was *partially* backed up, but not "completed". What happens in that instance? Mayoff
Retrospect 8 can automatically repair the catalog file when it is out of sync. If a file is incomplete, that file will need to be copied again. Other files will not get copied again because they are already in the catalog.
