Mayoff
Check to make sure no one has changed the password for the account being used by Retrospect for authentication to exchange.
msoldatow
I am also getting the same error. I also had no problems until I updated to 7.6.123 with driver and hot fix 7.6.2.101. We have 5 storage groups being backed up every night. We have seen this error on two of them so far. All the other storage groups seem to backed up correctly. Here is the error we seem to be getting. - 2/25/2009 9:03:28 PM: Copying XXXXX Storage Group on XXXXXXX Backup type: Full T-8: >>>HrESEBackupSetup(050d) -- T-8: MapError: unknown Windows error 1,293 Trouble reading files, error -1004 (Database Backup/Restore error) 2/25/2009 9:04:47 PM: Execution incomplete Remaining: 2 files, 29.9 GB Completed: 0 files, zero KB Performance: 0.0 MB/minute Duration: 00:01:18 (00:00:41 idle/loading/preparing) I checked exchange authentication and nothing has been changed there, please let me know what else I could look at. lostinit
We seem to be having the same issues. Do we need to create some soft of account and grant it full access to all mailboxes via the Exchange 2007 powershell console? Thanks. trancedguy
I have the same version and hotfix with the same issue. We have two storage groups backed up weekly using a script.. and the first storage group is receiving the same error that you are having. Robin: Checked passwords, nothing seems to be touched. No responses yet, wondering if anyone is still experiencing this issue. Might have to call Retrospect if nothing is posted soon

Mayoff
Make sure to follow all of the steps in this doc: http://forums.dantz.com/linkhit.php?id/104/
Benson Gray
I was getting the identical errors as shown below. No one has changed the password for the account being used by Retrospect. I also followed all of the steps in the document at http://forums.dantz.com/linkhit.php?id/104/ which did not fix anything. The second storage group never had this problem. The Exchange server also had a error in the application event log stating that "An attempt to prepare the storage group 'First Storage Group' for backup failed because the storage group is already in the process of being backed up. The error code is 1293. (Note that if a backup was recently aborted, then it may take several minutes for the system to detect the aborted backup and initiate backup cleanup procedures, so this message may be generated if an attempt was made to backup a storage group before a previous backup attempt had fully terminated.)" A full reboot of the Exchange server appears to have cleared this error and solved the problem. It is also curious that the Retrospect Helper service on the Exchange server is set to startup automatically but will not stay started and has logged no errors in the event log. Is there a better way to resolve this problem if it occurs again in the future?
