I have done a full rbf file image backup of my XP laptop to an external hdd. Now I would like to use that to create a Virtual Machine with Virtual PC 2007 on my Vista desktop, using the process outlined in MS KB912826. However, I've had a number of different issues, including a Retrospect 1017 permissions error, inability to locate the backup set, etc... If possible at all, is there a step by step procedure that outlines how to restore a backup set to a virtual hard disc on another physical PC?
