aesmith
I was changing the administrator password on our SBS server 2003 Retrospect server and after changing the password in Retrospect and exiting then logging out and back in with the new password, when I try to restart Retrospect I get Retrospect has encountered a serious error: Assertion failure at "wdbd_sqlvol.cpp-133 I am running version 7.6 of Retrospect and SBS 2003 sp 1. Any idea what this error pertains to?
Mayoff
If you can launch Retrospect, I would unlicense and then relicense SQL. If you can't open Retrospect, then try to revert to an older config75.dat file.
aesmith
I cannot launch retrospect and do not have a accessible copy of the config75.dat file since it is only backed up by retrospect. Also as far as I know there was no sql license being used. There are no errors in the event viewer btw. Any other suggestions?
Mayoff
You may need to remove the config75.dat and let Retrospect create a new file on launch so you can get into the software and restore an old config file
aesmith
I renamed my config75.dat to config75.dat.old It created a new one but still fails with the assert.
Mayoff
Try by removing the entire Retrospect folder in application data.
aesmith
Ok well I restored an older config75.dat by removing the Retrospect dir. But as soon as I use the restored config75.dat it gives me the assertion.
aesmith
Never mind, I had to go back several days and get an older config75.dat file and now I can get in. Thanks for your help!
