tvmaccounts Posted December 21, 2008 Report Share Posted December 21, 2008 I have been using Retrospect Express HD to create restore pouints to an external Maxtor OneTouh II external disc. The hard drive has now failed, and i have connected the external drive to a new mPC. Unfortunately i could not find the original installation disk, so i have installed a trial version of 2.5. tvmaccounts Posted December 22, 2008 Author Report Share Posted December 22, 2008 It goes through the process of restoring but fails immediately on the first first, doesn't give any specific errors just says unsuccessful. The restore points are on an external drive. It was originally running on a maxtor branded 1.1 version. 2.5 was installed, so I tried to go back to 1.1 but it says unlicensed and doesn't allow me to use it. Mayoff Posted December 22, 2008 Report Share Posted December 22, 2008 What restore option have you selected? Are you trying to restore back to the original location or to a new location?
