diamond187
I've been using Retrospect for some time to backup my network's exchange server; however doing an 'all-in-one' backup set that encompasses the hard drives, "Exchange Server" "First Storage Group" and "Mailboxes" as one have made it so that the daily backup takes close to 24 hours (with ~100 users). Is there a 'best practices' document for backing up exchange with retrospect? We have two primary goals we need accomplished: 1. Disaster recovery: Store bonks, server crashes, etc. 2. User Recovery: Being able to recover a users mailbox that is backed up to a snapshot, ala "We can restore to last night, or the night before". Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated! Mayoff
No specific document exists. It is best to backup the storage groups, mailboxes and the drive letters. Make sure you support the RSG too for best protection. http://kb.dantz.com/article.asp?article=5202&p=
