shansen
I was just getting started using Retrospect 7.6 on my Server 2008 box and I get this error everytime I go to network places inside the software -1001 unknow OS error. I was hoping somebody else has seen this error or could point me in the right direction towards resolving this issue.
Mayoff
Does restarting of the server help? Any errors in your windows event log?
shansen
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I have tried numerous times rebooting the server and the event log is still clear of any issues.
Mayoff
If you install Retrospect on a workstation, can it reach the same network resource? I am wondering if this is 2008 server specific.
shansen
I have Retrospect on a XP platform and it can access the network places just fine. I was almost to the conclusion that this is probably Server 2008 specific. I also try to type in the UNC path with no avail as well.
Mayoff
Is Retrospect running under a specific user account or as currently logged in user?
shansen
I changed the specified account from the administrator account to the logged in user account and now it works. Baffles me because the specified account would work when running on server 2003.
