edmorey
Hi - I want setup a new script to make a full backup of our Exchange data each day. In order to save disk space I'd like to overwrite the previous day's data each time. How do I configure Retropsect to do this?
Lennart_T
You schedule a "recycle" backup every day.
Richy_Boy
Genius - thanks Lennart. I'm assuming it will only overwrite the sources form the backup script, rather than the whole backup set? I was just going to ask about how to delete snapshots via scripting, but this should take care of what I needed to do. Thanks again! Richy_Boy
Doh! I looks like I misunderstood what recycle would do. If you backup several machines to the same backup set then you can kiss goodbye to everything in that set if you run the recycle backup for exchange. It looks like we DO need a delete snapshot option for scripts then! (and I need to start backing up all over again tonight!) Rich
Lennart_T
Well you didn't mention you only wanted to remove PARTS of the backup set. I don't really understand why. What do you want to do? For what purpose?
