gregmm
For the last 2 years I have been using a Maxtor One Touch II drive to back up my laptop. The drive failed 2 weeks ago along with corrupting the laptop hard drive. I tried to restore the files on the drive myself, but had no luck. So I took it to a data recovery company and $600 and one week later I have 118 .rdb files. They are not sequential and I am sure I am missing some of the incremental backup files. I have tried multiple ways to rebuild a catalog, restore from the recovered files, etc. but had no luck. I have the first file of the original backup but not the last. Is there any way that I can restore data from the recovered files? Thanks in advance for your suggestions and God Bless!
Mayoff
You must do a catalog rebuild. If you need help doing this, you probably will want to call tech support due to the potential problems the recovery may have caused to your backup set. gregmm
Robin, Thanks for the reply. When I try to rebuild the catalog, retrospect does not "see" the recovered files in the directory where I direct it to. Any suggestions? If this is beyond the forum's scope I will give tech support a call.
