rkbaker
Bought Maxtor One Touch II a couple yrs ago and with it was included Retrospect Express HD (version 1.0.196). The software has stopped working. Opening the software, I have been receiving the following info: Updating status... 0 restore points available The Restore, and Automatic Backup On and Off buttons are greyed out. Clicking Setup (which is not greyed) does nothing. So I can't restore or delete any restore points, and I can't initiate a new backup. I can browse the drive (Maxtor OneTouch II) with Windows Explorer and I can see the existing restore points. I have uninstalled, reinstalled the software to no avail. I now have since come to understand that I need to update the software. My question is - which update and is there a free option available to me? OS is Windows XP Pro. Thanks for any help. bswamy
Try updating to 1.1 from http://www.emcinsignia.com/updates Hi Mayoff - The update section does not have useful information. I am facing the same problem as described by Vieuxcarre. All I could infer from the website is a mandatory upgrade to 2.0 or 2.5. Please let us know if there are any ways to use the existing 1.1.126 or 1.1.127 software updates that we already have at our end on Windows XP SP3. Thanks for the help. Mayoff
The website clearly says that older versions must purchase an upgrade to 2.5 http://www.emcinsignia.com/supportupdates/updates/retroexpress/
