ns3kumar
I wish to use Apple's Time Capsule (NAS with wireless) to backup both Mac and Windows laptops. I am currently backing my Mac laptops using Time Machine backup software. I bought Retrospect HD for use with the Windows XP laptop. When I was setting up Express HD to use Time Capsule as the target disk for saving restore points, I noticed that available space appeared to be much larger than expected as the drive already had backups from the Mac laptops. I can see those backup files using Windows Explorer. Will Express HD overwrite the backup files generated by Leopard's Time Machine on the Time Capsule? i.e., will it erase the target drive? Thank you
Mayoff
Express HD will create a folder on the destination disk and write the data to that folder only. I don't know if Time Machine will delete the Retrospect folder at some point in the future.
ns3kumar
Thank you for the prompt response. How do I make certain that Express HD will not overwrite other files already present on the target disk. Can I view the various files present on the target disk through Express HD during setup? Thank you!
