RogerS
For years I've been frustrated with Recovery disc's that compile greater than 650Mb! (That's with a retail version of XP-Pro) and a new clean Xp install & now using Retro 7.6. (Never have seen a response from EMC on this topic) Has anyone ever tried this: To extract the contents of the Retro ISO and build a new compilation into a bootable DVD image? Extracting the contents of an ISO is a no-brainer... Using the contents to create a bootable DVD Image is straight forward. Besides "Not being supported" by EMC technical support, why isn't this feasible? Anyone? ??? RS9
Mayoff
If you can make it work, then you can do it. I don't expect it to work correctly but I honestly can't remember the reason it fails.
dnpeters
Robin - Several months ago, I "think" you indicated that Retrospect was looking into a different approach for bare metal restores, that might solve the CD space limitation. Can you give us an update? Thanks. - Dave
Mayoff
We are still working on it, but we don't talk about pre-release features in depth. You can check out the development blog linked in the forum for product changes the engineers can talk about.
IanHamilton
This might help. I got to the point where I was satisfied that the problems I had were NOT the result of creating the DVD http://forums.dantz.com/showtopic.php?tid/27597/post/108639
