BMassie
Grrr...Worked last week like a champ, updated to Retro 7.6 on the server and client and now it fails to authenticate to the exchange server. I can backup the hard drives fine, but when it comes to snapshots, complete fail. All I get is auth. failure, for both RBU and the domain backup account. HELP! Mayoff
What is this "failure"? What exactly happens?
BMassie
Go to volumes and try to add exchange license. It ask for authentication, I give it correct domain, username and password. Says "authentication failed, please try again" It was working fine before our upgrade to 7.6; i've tried to re license it with no success. Mayoff
What happens if you select run as current RBU user? What is your exact configuration? What version of Exchange? What version of Windows? Is this a local backup or a client backup of Exchange? Do you have any clusters configured for exchange? Do you have CAS (Client Access Service) turned on? BMassie
What happens if you select run as current RBU user? -Same as if I picked domain admin, fails and ask to try aagain What version of Exchange? Mayoff
I know we are tracking a bug with CAS. We also do not support CCR Cluster: http://kb.dantz.com/article.asp?article=5494&p=
BMassie
What is the problem with CAS? Also, it worked with no problem until the 7.6 update. Is there any way to roll back the server verison?
Mayoff
You can uninstall 7.6 and install 7.5. Either way we do not support the Exchange CCR Cluster. If it works for backup, I can't say for sure that a restore of the database will work.
BMassie
Could your clarify "support"? As in, if it works, then it works, but if it doesn't then there is no fix? I've restored individual mailboxes multiple times with 7.5 with no problems at all in a clustered state. 7.6 will not even let me see the mailboxes to back them up. Mayoff
We have not done any specific coding to make this work as outlined by Microsoft. Mailbox restore might be working, but we can't say for sure if the recovery of the 1st storage group will work correctly if the server crashes. Support basically means, if it works then feel free to do it...but if it fails technical support will not be able to help you.
BMassie
Downgraded to 7.5.13.100 this morning and it opened all the mailboxes with the domain admin account.
