Exchange 07 Mailbox Snapshot Failures

Recommended Posts

Grrr...Worked last week like a champ, updated to Retro 7.6 on the server and client and now it fails to authenticate to the exchange server. I can backup the hard drives fine, but when it comes to snapshots, complete fail.

All I get is auth. failure, for both RBU and the domain backup account.

HELP!

Go to volumes and try to add exchange license. It ask for authentication, I give it correct domain, username and password. Says "authentication failed, please try again"

It was working fine before our upgrade to 7.6; i've tried to re license it with no success.

What happens if you select run as current RBU user?

What is your exact configuration?

What version of Exchange?

What version of Windows?

Is this a local backup or a client backup of Exchange?

Do you have any clusters configured for exchange?

Do you have CAS (Client Access Service) turned on?

Could your clarify "support"? As in, if it works, then it works, but if it doesn't then there is no fix?

I've restored individual mailboxes multiple times with 7.5 with no problems at all in a clustered state. 7.6 will not even let me see the mailboxes to back them up.

We have not done any specific coding to make this work as outlined by Microsoft.

Mailbox restore might be working, but we can't say for sure if the recovery of the 1st storage group will work correctly if the server crashes.

Support basically means, if it works then feel free to do it...but if it fails technical support will not be able to help you.
