cheizer
Hello, Does anyone know if it's possible to make the Retrospect client assume the IP address as the client's name rather than the filesharing name? Thanks, - Charles
lv2ski
The default name can't change from the computers name. Although you can change the name after the client is logged in. (if that is what you want).
cheizer
Do you know why the name can't change until later? What I want to do is; I have a automted softare distribution tool to deliver software to the Mac's I support, now I want to push the retrospect client out to them. But when I do they all show up in the admin software with the same name. It's really hard to go back and make any sense of it.
lv2ski
When you 1st log in the client it allows you to change the name. You can't change the name before because the client software pulls the name from the client computer. All you can do is change the client computer name before installing the client.
