Kevin_
I'm currently using Retrospect to backup a number of computers, and, as a result, have quite a few backup sets. These sets are fairly large, so I have them set to groom the backups older than 5 (the default, I believe, is 10). However, I still have snapshots or something from June of 2007. This is, obviously, older than the last 5 backups, but when I groom the database, these items remain. What's goin' on?
Kevin_
Also; when I try to groom backup sets it gives me error 1115 (disk full), which doesn't make any sense. Isn't grooming supposed to get rid of old backups, not take up additional space?
Mayoff
Are the Snapshots identically named, not just for the same disk/computer? When browsing the list of snapshots can you count more then 5 of that IDENTICALLY named snapshot? You can manually delete the snapshots or try a catalog rebuild and then do grooming again. Kevin_
They're all named differently.
Mayoff
Right, this is why they don't get groomed out. You need 6 identically named items, to remove 1 of them. You need to manually delete the ones you don't want.
Kevin_
If I manually delete them, will that damage the set or anything?
Mayoff
Deleting them should start a groom once you close the window. With any grooming process, a catalog rebuild could be needed if something goes wrong.
