Updating Status - Express HD 2.0.214

I bought an Iomega Home Network Hard Drive and Retrospect came bundled. I installed the software on my Dell XPS Vista PC with a view to backing up over my home network. But it doesn't get any farther than 'Updating Status.'

 

I see this issue referred to elsewhere in the Forum and the Knowledge base with reference to Maxtor One Touch (not relevant) and Firewall and Microsoft.Net although unclear if that applies to my set up.

 

So I'm a stuck and still not backing up. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks.
