ddodat
[color:blue]Having used Express HD to back up all important files, and with 39 restore points, I didn't sweat a hard drive crash last week. Until now. I can see all the restore points, but when I select even a few files to restore, I get a message: [color:red]Executing DirectRestore at 26/03/2008 11:10 AM To volume Local Disk (C:)... -26/03/2008 11:10:21 AM: Restoring from LAPTOP, Snapshot Local Disk (C:), 04/03/2008 12:02:10 AM 26/03/2008 11:10:23 AM: Execution incomplete Remaining: 5 files, 120.3 MB Completed: 0 files, zero KB Performance: 0.0 MB/minute Duration: 00:00:01 (00:00:01 idle/loading/preparing) [color:blue]Can anyone explain my predicament? Mayoff
Unfortunately express HD doesn't provide detailed error messages so we can't tell why it failed. What happens if you use a different restore point? You may need to delete the .rbc file on the backup disk. When this file gets corrupted, a restore might fail. The software would rebuild the .rbc file automatically. Otherwise, you can download a trail to the 7.5 version and do the restore using that version. It will give more detailed errors, either way.
