Duaneis
Yesterday i bought a MadDog MegaSTOR DVD-RW for the local CompUSA store that is going out of business. I decided to start a complete backup this morning, but Retrospect doesn't recognize the drive. I hope there is an RDU for this drive. I searched the forums but found nothing. BTW, I'm running Windows XP up-to-date and Retrospect Pro version 7.5.387 (Driver update 7.5.13.100)
Mayoff
I suspect this is an unsupported drive. What is the exact model that appears in Configure>Devices>Environment?
Duaneis
I forgot about having to have Retrospect configure the device. Anyway, what it says is: 1:0:0 MAD DOG TF-DVDRW TSH652G MD00 MADDOG DVD+R - RDI (1.56) I'll give it a shot this afternoon after I get back from about 100 shots with my 9 Mil. Thanks for pointing me in the proper direction. As an aside: I used EMC2 devices when I was a system architect on a main frame computer before I retired 8 years ago. Mayoff
The info seems to show that you already tried to autoconfigure the drive. I would try again with +R media. The drive is technically unsupported but a configuration with +R might work okay.
Duaneis
I got it to work. What used to take about 30 CD-RW disks now only takes 4 DVD+R disks. Still takes about 2 hours compared to 3 hours before.
