jfacciol
I'm using a Mac G4 with 9.2.2 OS and backing up to a Sony Spressa i.Link CRX145E/XI external unit. I first had lots of stalling problems, which seem to have been solved by moving to SONY CD-Rs from the TDK ones that I was using. But I am still getting hundreds of "bad backup set header found" messages. Does my Spressa unit need a terminator? (I am confused about the difference between SCSI problems, to which the messages seem to be related, and Firewire, which I thought was a non-SCSI technology.) What other solutions can anyone suggest? Thanks.
natew
Hi Luckily USB and Firewire devices do not require terminators so you are all set there. This error can be caused by a lot of things like bad cables, bad connections, media failure and sometimes extensions problems. Can you try this with a base extension set + Retrospect? That is probably the best place to start Nate
