Bart Windrum
I'm moving from an old 8.6 G3'd clone machine (PowerTowerPro) to an 867 DVI TiBook under X w/an external Cobra 120G 7200rpm firewre drive. I'm in process of backup all sorts of stuff from the old box to the FW in advance of burning CDs to archive from the TiBook system (then sort all the junk out etc.). I'm duplicating via Retro 4.3. I haven't sat around watching the BUs proceed but the actual copying seems to move apace. However, the comparision phase takes HOURS at a real snail's pace. How come??? natew
Hi I assume you are doing this over the network? Try slowing down the network speed on the TI book, it may be outrunning your older machine. Nate
