redwilly
I have not yet installed 5.1 and I can't decide which way to go. I have an older desk top (PTpro upgraded to G4 400 gig o'ram) OS9, and a 550 TiPb-combo drive OSX on connected an Airport network. If all things were equal I would make my desktop the home of Retrospect and the Pbook the client. My hesitation is that only resonable option I have for removable media from my OS9 desktop is a 1 Gig Jaz drive-Where-as the power book has a combo drive (firmware has been upgraded). I know I should spring for a cheap optical writer but cheap ain't free and my budget has been Bushed I know there is no right answer but some opinions might help me re-evaluate my options. natew
Hi If budget is the key concern I would backup using the cheapest possible media It may be a little slower but it will get the job done. Nate
