LeRoy
I just installed a Retrospect 5.0.528 client on a Mac running OS 10.1.4. The client control panel does not include anything to allow the Mac to "Wait for backup on shutdown", so it just does a complete shutdown and does not get an unattended backup. Anybody else have this problem?
IrenaS
The client must be left on for backup. The OS X client does not have the Wait at Shutdown option, due to possible conflicts with OS X or other 3rd party applications.
LeRoy
In other words, the computer cannot be shut down because the client will quit if it is. Is this correct? Will Retrospect shut it down after a backup in this case? The manual is extremely vague.
IrenaS
No, the Retrospect client cannot shut the computer down. You could use energy saver to script a shutdown if you know when the backup will complete.
