PaulRaines
When is an update to the Restrospect Windows Server coming out that will support the OSX client? This is becoming critical for us and will soon need to look for other solutions to replace Retrospect. Why was a change in the protocol needed that created this incompatibility? IrenaS
The next release of the Windows product should contain the ability to back up OS X clients. This will be shipping this summer.
techmom
Is this also true for Retrospect Workgroup 5.6? I've just spent two days trying to make the OSX client work with the Workgroup backup product, only to get the message that the client version on the OSX machine is incompatible with Retrospect Workgroup 5.6. Any recommendations in the meantime?
IrenaS
No version of Retrospect for Windows can see OS X clients. It's not a limit that we've imposed -- the program just does not have the ability to recognize an OS X client at this time. We will add support for OS X clients in our next Windows release. At this time, users who have chosen to upgrade their OS can not be integrated into a Windows-run Retrospect backup system.
