remo
We are looking to purchase a tape library to be used with a Mac OS X server. I would really appreciate feedback from users who are successfully using tape libraries of capacities in excess of 1 Terabyte with Retrospect on OS X. What library are you using? Any issues? Are backups performed successfully? Have you tried restoring any data to verify the backup? Thank you for indulging this question.
lv2ski
Side note: Currently Retrospect has a limit of 1TB to a single backupset. Meaning you can't backup more than 1Tb to a Tape Backup Set currently. We hope to see this lifted in the next version.
jimbo
I'm also looking for recommendations on a small library or auto loader that gives good bang for the buck. I've got a pair of DDS3 drives that I'm looking to retire, and have just added several servers that I know are going to end up with a lot of data dumped on them over time. My backup server is still running 9, but that will probably change soon, so compatibility with X is a must.
lv2ski
I hope someone in the forum will post and help you guys out on a recommendation. We (Dantz) cannot make them ourselves. www.dantz.com/hardware does have a list of supported devices though. That might be a good place to start.
