jonathanmfreed
The tech support web page states that these two drives are supported under windows xp professional, they are not...retrospect 5.6 recognizes the drives, but not the media...it states that there is no media in the drive when there really is, and other programs can easily access the drive (tho i only have software that will recognize the 32 mb diskettes for the superdisk (which is mouted on a QPS or MKE product). therefore, i have a working piece of machinery (the superdisk) but lack the software to support it. windows backup works ok with the orb, but it wouldbe nice to have a backup product that controls both devices (as ur literature indicates it does). However, without ur stuff doing what it is supposed to, i can't use my superdisk.
AmyJ
SuperDisk removable disk drives are fully supported by Retrospect. Retrospect accesses these drives through the Operating System. If you go into My Computer, can Windows see the disk in the drive? Can you open the disk and browse it? Make sure you have the latest software and drivers from the hardware manufacturer for this drive. Try formatting your disks with the Castlewood software. Mayoff
Under 2000 or XP format the disks as NTFS prior to Retrospect use. Make sure the drive is not at a: or b: When backing up to this device, make sure you use a "Disk" or "Removable Disk" backup set type.
