abakadabra
Neophyte here: It seems that a very large hunk of my backups are .dbx files. I would guess these are e-mail files. It would seem to make sense at the very least not to backup "deleted.dbx" files and that they could be avoided using a script. Any thoughts on how to reduce .dbx backup time? Delete all unimportant e-mail files before backup and then block out deleted.dbx files with script? Thanks
RonaldL
You can create a selector to exclude specific files (such as deleted.dbx) from being backed up. Go to Configure>Selectors, create a new selector and name it appropriately (e.g. All Files except deleted.dbx). Click the + under "and exclude nothing" and add in an entry for the file(s) you want excluded. It is always a good idea to check the selector to make sure it's backing up everything you want to back up. You can do this by clicking on the blue checkmark. Once you're sure the selector is backing up what you want to back up, edit your script and under selecting choose the selector you just created.
