ellenfinkl Posted October 15, 2006 Report Share Posted October 15, 2006 Almost every time I use manual backup (Retrospect Express 6.5) I get the following messages: "Retrospect has encountered a serious error." Then I send in the error report. Then, "Exeuction terminated unexpectedly, possibly due to a power failure or system crash." However, my system hasn't crashed (usually). I'm sitting here watching it. nekr0phage Posted October 16, 2006 Report Share Posted October 16, 2006 Hi Ellen, One of the most common causes of repeated application crashes is damage to the configuration files. You can remove these files from C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Applicate Data/Retrospect. The files will be named 'config65.dat' and 'config65.bak'. Move them to a different directory, launch Retrospect, enter your license code if it prompts you and then run a test backup. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
