Mayoff Posted September 25, 2006 Report Share Posted September 25, 2006 Tapes are only marked "bad" if the hardware has reported a media failure. Retrospect does not make the decision, the hardware sends Retrospect an error message like "206 Media failure" via a scsi sense code.
