Ferrari328
I suspect that I know the answer but want to check. I got Retrospect Express OEM version 6.5.32 with a maxtor one touch drive and I can't use the disaster recover wizard. When I try to select a set it complains that it can't be used. I did a full backup. Any hints? Thanks /Peter
nekr0phage
Peter, Can you be more specific as to what the message says? What is the reason the snapshot cannot be used? All you really need is a snapshot of your operating system drive. This will contain the system state information necessary to create a Disaster Recovery disc. Ferrari328
Thanks, I did a full backup, is that enough? Or how do I do a snapshot? Thanks /Peter
Ferrari328
The error message is Sorry, can't prepare for disaster recovery using that snapshot. Please select a windows startup snapshot, created with Retrospect 5.5 or later. /Peter
nekr0phage
Peter, Are you running immediate backups or do you have a schedule set up? Can you check the options and confirm whether snapshots are enabled or not? They should be on by default. You need to select the snapshot of your C: drive when attempting to create a disaster recovery image.
Ferrari328
I was running immediate backup and I only had one full backup created. I'm rerunning the full backup to see what will happen. I suspected that the version that come with the onetouch maxtor was crippled and that I had to pay for getting the full version but nobody here indicated that this was the case so I'm redoing the backup.
