skimark Posted September 21, 2006 Report Share Posted September 21, 2006 I have the latest version of Retrospec for Mac, and am running 10.4.7 on a G5 1.8 Dual. I am backing up from a 160gb internal to another 160gb internal, and both are SATA drives. I only have about 71gb in use and recycle backups every 3 months. It did a recycle yesterday, and it took almost 5 hours to fully backup and veryify the 71gb of info. That seems extremely slow. I have a similiar setup in Windows XP that backs up about the same amount of info in about 1.5 hrs. Why am I having such a performance hit in the Mac machine? Any ideas and help will be appreciated.
