moorepj Posted September 13, 2004 Report Share Posted September 13, 2004 Although compression is enabled on the backup I am only getting approx 20gb per tape instead of nearly 40gb. The backup keeps asking for a second tape. Total amount of data to backup is 23gb but the backup asks for a new tape at arround 19.4gb. It seems that it is only achieving 3% compression. natew Posted September 27, 2004 Report Share Posted September 27, 2004 Hi Keep in mind that tape manufactuers report tape capacity as 1 GB = 1000MB. Retrospect says 1 GB = 1024 MB.
