helix
Following a recycle backup I am unable to effectively use the CPU unless I restart. Everything is slow and jerky. Have Desktop 5.6.
natew
Hi This is most likely a coincidence. Retrospect does not do anything special on the system after a recycle backup. Can you give some details about your backup device? Thanks Nate
helix
I have great difficulty with the computer (appears to be losing memory although I have 256MB) when I back up my C drive. It happened again tonight during the comparing step. Micron 500 MHZ Pentium 3 256MB 120GB HD APC/Sony DAT tape streamer I have my HD partitioned: C (for system, programs, etc.), D (for files), and E (swap) I don't have any problems backing up the D drive. Just on the C drive where the system resides. I don't know if setting up my backup criteria for that drive should be in segments rather than the whole C partition or not. If that's what I need to do I don't think I know just how best to do that. I would certainly look forward to an email on this at your earliest convenience. Thank you HELIX
AmyJ
After a backup, try going into the Task Manager to see where the resources are being used. Your system may be having some memory management issues. How much data is on your C: vs. your D:? What is the capacity vs. used space on these drives? helix
I have a 120GB HD with 6 on C and 3 on D Before I do a backup I turn just about everything off including the task scheduler I do a compare. Could that use more memory than I have?
