jglodowski
When running a weekly backup of data, Windows tells me that a device was unplugged/ejected. When I look at the windows event log, the following shows up: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | Event Type: Error | Event Source: sbp2port | Event Category: None | Event ID: 9 | Date: 8/8/2003 | Time: 10:05:39 AM | User: N/A | Computer: D7FN7521 | Description: | The description for Event ID ( 9 ) in Source ( sbp2port ) cannot be found. natew
Hi I think Installing ASPI might be your best bet. You can find the ASPIINST.EXE file in your Retrospect folder. Let us know if the problems continue. Nate
jglodowski
Installed ASPI still having the problem. When I insert the backup tape it tells me I have to recatalog. When I go to recatalog, First the recatalog window cannot find the tape, then it loses communication with the device completely. Windows 2000 pops up an UNSAFE REMOVAL OF DEVICE dialog box right after the recatalog windows loses communication with the Travan. natew
Wow... I have heard of communication problems but I have not seen the device "eject" before. Do you have trouble with any other USB devices? Are there any other USB ports/adapters that you can try on this machine? By the way what version of the Retrospect driver update are you using? jglodowski
The Travan is hooked up to a firewire port (Adaptec FireConnect 4300 Card). We are using the latest Retrospect driver update (3.1).
