bigtex
I have recently upgraded from Win 98SE to Win XP Home Edition. All of the drives have been converted to NTFS. Retrospect Express runs much better and faster under the new operating system. However, I do have two questions that I hope you can answer. Question #1 Win Explorer reports 3.3GB on drive "C" and Retrospect Express backs up 1.7GB. What is not being backed up?? Is this normal?? Will a restore function properly and return my system to its original condition?? Question #2 During Emergency Recovery build, I notice the requirement for the original Win XP CD. Under Win 98SE, the necessary files were copied from the hard drive. Please explain the difference for this. Thank you in advance for this information. lv2ski
1. The link below should explain why there are size differences. http://www.dantz.com/index.php3?SCREEN=knowledgebase_article&id=222 2. XP is based off of a Windows 2000, NT scenario, not a Windows 98. You must have the CD for XP, 2000, NT.
