Maddison
Hi fellow forum members, 5/23/02 at 4:06pm Automated backups start but then go in wait-state. My client is running Retrospect Server v5.6 with a 15-tape Ecrix VXA-1 auto-loader on a Windows/2000 Server, Intel D845 motherboard, P4, Adaptec 29160 SCSI controller based system. The automated backups launch as scheduled but it Retrospect fails to load the tape(s). No error message is returned. I updated to the newest drivers on March-21-2002. The problem is intermittent. Any ideas or suggestions?
lv2ski
You said - Fails to Load a tape? Does this mean it sits on the "searching for member" screen and waits for media? Or does it say wrong media is in the drive?
Maddison
Retrospect is "searching for member" and the proper backup set is loaded in the tape library. Retrospect doesn't event move the tapes into the drive to scan them. The Retrospect status windows keep flashing "Moving Media" but the media remains in the library. lv2ski
Is your tape drive in Random or SCSI mode? Can you make sure of this? What RDU do you have loading (your Operations log will tell you this) (Retrospect Driver Update)?
