Restoring to original locations

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how to restore a backup of selected directories and files to their original location without restoring to another location first.

When I used the Restore Entire Disk and select only a few directories it deleted my other folders and only restored the selected files.

Restore file from backup forces me to select a folder other than the original folder and I must copy from there to the orginal.

Is there a way to restore selected files and folders directly to theeir originallocation without harms other folders?

Click Restore.

Choose Restore Entire Disk.

****Then for your destination you want to use Replace Corresponding Files. This will do exactly as you want.

***This is KEY! You need to CHANGE this so that it says Replace Corresponding Files. Otherwise it will delete everything and then only put what you restored.
