How do I determine the last file bk'd up

No. The window you are looking at lists the files as they appear on your hard drive. Not necessarily what was backed up first. You cannot find the last file that was backed up unless you sit in front of the backup and watch the files go by on the screen. The last file will show and you will be able to know what the last file is. Is there a specific reason why you wanted to know what the last file was?

If you stop a backup midway, Retrospect will automatically know where it left off and continue from that point. (Not sure if this will help you or not).
