garyrob
I am trying to back up to a Snap Server which is running the latest version of the Snap OS. I create a brand new "File" backup set. I let Retrospect mount the volume -- it is not mounted in the Finder when I start. It checks all the files and folders to backup then shows the dialog that says "Preparing to Execute..." Then Retrospect dies and exits. The log says: Can't save Snapshot in Snap PB G3 Backup, error -25043 (catalog version incorrect). This happens repeatedly. I am unable to use the Snap for backup. I was able to use it under Mac OS 9/retro 4.3. I am now running Retro 5.0 including the Driver Update under Mac OS X 10.1.4. Is it possible to use the Snap??? lv2ski
This occurs when your backup set catalog, the file that keeps track of what Retrospect has backed up to your backup media, has become corrupt. To fix this, rebuild the catalog by clicking on Repair in the Tools tab of the Directory. Choose to recreate your catalog from your media. Your rebuilt catalog will now work again. But if it happens every time then something isn't right. Let us know!
garyrob
It happens every time. I have tried rebuilding it and also recreating it from scratch. Nothing seems to help.
lv2ski
What is the model of this SNAP? Are you using a FILE backupset? If so, there is no way to rebuild a FILE backupset..... Try running a duplicate to this SNAP - what happens?
