sefeist Posted February 21, 2002 Report Share Posted February 21, 2002 5.6.132 (with device driver 2.7.117)) causes XP (Pro) to reboot whenever it scans for backup devices (which as far as I know is an unavoidable step in the backup process). This has happened all 3 times I've tried. I'm attempting to backup to CD-RW; other software can access the drive successfully. I previously had 5.5 running on this machine in Windows 98 (in fact, it still does; I have dual boot). XP was done as a clean install, not an update. The 5.5 and 5.6 installs are on separate disks, and 5.5 was only installed in 98; 5.6 was only in XP. Potentially interesting hardware notes: my motherboard is a Soyo 6BA+IV with onboard Highpoint HPT366 UDMA 66 controller, which is where my hard drives are connected; the CD-RW and a CD-ROM are connected to the regular motherboard IDE controller. This appears to have solved the device configuration hangup issue.
