The machine is being replaced with a new Intel Mac, so I need to do the following: Restore selected files from the backup to the new Mac Archive the entire contents of the old Windows machine to a DVD in case they're needed later on I'm hoping a simple Restore will take care of the first task, but I have seen some funny permissions problems in the past...any pitfalls I should be aware of? nekr0phage Posted May 19, 2006 Report Share Posted May 19, 2006 Hi, Restoring files with NTFS permissions to a volume utilizing HFS+ permissions will land you a few obvious difficulties. Your best bet would probably be to restore all this data to a new folder on the Mac and then issue appropriate permissions from there. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
