ngoldberg Posted February 22, 2006 Report Share Posted February 22, 2006 We are having trouble backing up clients' Entourage identites with Retrospect where Office Notifications are enable. Retrospect reports no errors but when restored the backups are incomplete and unusable. Having users quit all Office applications and terminate Notification processes doesn't even solve the problem. The only thing that seems to work is conducting the backup with the user logged out. Unfortunately, this doesn't work in the many cases of users who have FileVault enabled. Would anyone have any workarounds? Ideally ones that don't require a bunch of jumping through hoops on the part of users. The ideal scenario would be if there were some way to get a good backup while the user is still logged in. Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might have. natew Posted March 2, 2006 Report Share Posted March 2, 2006 Hi How incomplete and unsable? What is missing? Since there are no errors it sounds like it may be a restore problem not a backup problem.
