Prentice
I have my preferences set to shut down the computer when my nightly script runs. According to the log, the script runs fine and shuts down the computer, but when I start up the computer in the morning, it gives me the message that the computer was not shut down properly and starts scanning the HD for errors. I'm using retrospect 4.3C with the 2.5 update on Mac OS 9.2.1. I'm also using Norton File Saver on the computer and wondering if this could have something to do with the problem. Mayoff
The best way to find out is to turn off Norton File Saver for a night and see if that solves the problem. I have not heard of this problem before, but I suspect an extension conflict.
bzzzz
i have a similar problem, and turning off norton's auto scan "after 30 minutes" did not solve it. i suppose completely removing the extension could help, but i figured the autoscan was the issue.
