adlerent
I am using a 40 GB external USB hard drive to back up my desktop, which is running WinXp Pro. Both are NTFS. The first backup of 16 GB went smoothly. Subsequent backups lock up Retrospect 5.6. and the external hard drive. When I look at the external drive's properties in "My Computer" it shows 6 GB remaining. Something is happening that is filling up the drive with I don't know what, since it doesn't show up. If I turn off the external drive, receive a windows error regarding a hardware failure, turn the drive back on and then try to execute a backup, Retrospect works normally. This also happened with an external firewire drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
lv2ski
Turn Windows XP System Restore off. Now see if that makes a difference. It should!
adlerent
Thanks, Melissa! It seems to work. I'll try an unattended backup this evening. I'll let you know if I have any more problems.
