Guest
Having recently moved from Windows 95 to 2000, I'm desperately looking for a replacement for Cheyenne Backup. As a Mac user, too, I was familiar with Retrospect's good reputation and decided to give the Windows version a try. Using the trial version of Express, I tried to define backup schedules, but it keeps restarting Windows every time it scans the attached devices. This has happened three times in a row, and I'm totally frustrated. Anyone else doing backups from Windows 2000 to an external SCSI jaz or zip drive? (The "supported hardware" area of Dantz's web site implies that they're OK with Express.)
lv2ski
Remove any Smart Card Readers that you may have attached to your system. If you don't have any, then see if you have any USB scanners or printers. This could cause the random rebooting as well when it goes to scan the devices. RBRADLEY
This software was insluded with a USB hard disk. I have other USB devices attached. Are you saying that the software can't distinguish USB devices and a printer will screw it up??? When are you going to fix that???
ZakB
Dantz is aware of this issue and currently looking for a solution.
AmyJ
We are aware of possible conflicts with SmartCard readers attached. Your printer should not be a source of conflict.
