meld51
Hello, I keep 2 local backups. A daily proactive backup to a NAS drive and a monthly manual backup to a HDD which I keep offline most of the time. Occasionally I perform a restore test by restoring a single file to a new location. This normally works but has not worked today. Here below is a list of the work I have done so far to solve this problem but I have not resolved the issue. Please help. WORK SO FAR: Chose a recent file: CCStatements-230813.pdf Can it be restored from the 20/08/2023 HDD Backup: Didn't seem to work! Try the same file from the Nas_Daily_4 backup set: Didn't work as well Check for Updates: Retrospect is up to date. ver 18.5.3.142 Check for Windows Updates: 2 .Net Framework updates required. Now up to date Windows Version: 10 Pro Ver 22H2 Build 19045.3324 Rebooted Try a restore from the HDD with no other apps running: Restore did not happen although the History Log said "Execution Completed Successfully". Destination directory is empty.
Lennart_T
What does the log say? How do you start the restore? Using the wizard or advanced mode? Restoring to a new folder? (This would create a new folder at the root level, named the same as the backup set.)
mbennett
Every time I've had a restore fail it's because I thought I had selected the file or directory to restore but I had not. Go through it again, I think you missed a step.
