I have imported all my backupsets. they are readable as I am able to search for files. problem: the media is not accepted by the device/programm. What am I doing wrong. Still have the possibility to restore files on my G3 with old Retro, but if that fails all my backups will be unreadable! Please help me!!! natew
Hi What is your old device? How is it connected to the machine? What do you mean "the media is not accepted"? Can you give us some details of what happens. Nate
CallMeDave
Quote: I have just upgraded to 10.3 an latest Version of Retro Server. Upgraded _from what?_ - Were your Backup Sets created with a version of Retrospect prior to 6.x? If so, then they are read-only (as documented in the ReadMe). You'll need to start new ones. charlyw76
My Backup Sets are prior 6.x? The Problem is, that they are not readable. Importing works fine but the media seemed not to be recognized correctly... The Media is shown on the desktop but i can´t start the job. The Old Device was a SCSI external CDRW on my G3. From the hints you've dropped I'm able to infer that you have a CD/DVD Backup Set that was created with Retrospect 5.x You can't Restore from a CD/DVD using a read-only hardware device; in other words, you need a CD-R or DVD-+R to Restore burned optical disks More specific information in your posts can help you to get help from others faster...
